A Winter of Hands-On Learning
Winter is a wonderful time to slow down, get hands-on, and discover something new—and we’re excited to announce that enrollment is now open for our Winter Semester at Farm School!
At Dewey Acres Farm School, learning doesn’t happen only behind a desk. Our students learn through real experiences, meaningful work, and hands-on time on the farm.
Our Winter Semester gives kids the opportunity to experience learning in a way that is active, engaging, and purposeful.
Through seasonal farm activities, students will have opportunities to:
- Care for and interact with animals
- Learn where food comes from
- Build practical farm and life skills
- Explore nature and the changing seasons
- Work together and contribute to a real farm community
- Ask questions, solve problems, and follow their curiosity
- Grow confidence through meaningful responsibilities
Every experience is designed to help children become curious, capable, confident, and kind.
Learning With a Purpose
We believe children learn best when they have the opportunity to do real things that matter.
At Farm School, students aren’t simply pretending to be farmers. They are participating in a real working farm environment where their contributions have purpose.
Winter brings its own unique opportunities for learning—from caring for animals during the colder months to understanding seasonal changes and discovering how farms continue to thrive throughout the year.
Our goal is to create a learning environment where every child feels valued, capable, and encouraged to explore.
Through inquiry-based, hands-on learning, students have space to ask questions, try new things, make mistakes, solve problems, and discover what they are capable of.
This winter, give your child the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.
